The Truth About Calling in the Professionals...

So I FINALLY decided it was time, at 7 and 1/2 months, for Asher to have his own room. I am very ashamed to say that I have been finding any excuse in the book to keep him in our room each night, set up nicely in his little pack-and-play right by my bed. It is kinda selfish, and maybe a little unstable, but I couldn't face the fact that he might be one whole room away from me all night long with a big thick scary wall separating the two of us. Silly, I know. But really, can you blame me?
I was able to swallow the idea a little more easily when I realized that I could decorate his nursery if we took the plunge. Better late than never, I guess, and design ideas began to flow freely and generously.

First thing on the agenda was, of course, to paint the little guys room. We picked out the paint and set up shop to get the job done as quickly and efficiently as possible. Trent and I were planning to head up the project ourselves, but we got an unexpected offer of help from a VERY talented little painter. How could we pass this opportunity up?? 2-year-old Lucy definitely has the best resume for the job. Her areas of expertise are, of course, finger painting and sidewalk chalk, but she certainly did not disappoint with this project in the least.

We were very lucky to have such a serious little helper. I am not sure if she necessarily helped speed the process along, but the Truth is... she sure looked like a cutie doing it!

  1. Not gunna lie...that is one cute kiddo. Thanks for letting her paint. I would not have been so brave. (and thanks for sending me the pictures too.)
